Constitution and Regulations of the USMLE Privateers Community
Core Principles:
Our community is built upon the values of mutual respect, collaboration, and ethics. This document governs the behavior, organization, and practices of members, ensuring a healthy and functional environment for all participants.
Chapter I - General Provisions
Article 1 - Objectives of the Community
Promote the sharing of knowledge and experiences about the USMLE.
Provide mutual support among physicians and medical students.
Foster a harmonious, respectful, and collaborative environment.
Article 2 - Voluntary and Free Participation
Participation in the community is entirely voluntary and free of charge.
No fees or charges shall be required for joining or remaining in the community.
Article 3 - Membership Eligibility
Membership is restricted to physicians and medical students.
Acceptance of the community rules is mandatory upon joining.
Chapter II - General Rules of Conduct
Section I - Respect and Ethics
Article 4 - Mutual Respect
Any offensive, discriminatory, or disrespectful behavior is strictly prohibited, regardless of the reason.
Discussions must always be conducted with civility and professionalism.
Article 5 - Prohibition of Public Conflicts
Conflicts between members must be resolved privately, with mediation by the administration if necessary.
Suggestions for changes to the organization of the community or its groups must not be made publicly. They should be directed to the ADMs (Administrators).
Public offenses or attacks against members or ADMs will be penalized and may result in expulsion.
Section II - Content Sharing
Article 6 - Permitted Content
Content related to the USMLE, medicine, and relevant academic topics is welcomed.
Links and free materials can be shared freely, provided they are not merely a part, module, or free demo of a paid material. If they originate from a company that may charge in the future, prior authorization is required.
Paid material or products may only be shared with prior authorization from the ADMs.
Article 7 - Sharing External Groups and Content
Sharing external groups within the community is an exclusive responsibility of the ADMs or those explicitly authorized by them.
Sharing external groups without prior authorization constitutes an infraction:
Minor: If the external group addresses a topic not covered by existing community groups.
Moderate: If the external group has the same focus as existing groups in the community.
During live events hosted in the community, speakers are free to promote products of their choice.
Section III - Group Organization
Article 8 - Purpose of Groups
Each group has a specific purpose (e.g., questions, medical English, USMLE).
Messages must align with the theme of the group in which they are posted.
Article 9 - Group Maintenance
Off-topic messages may be removed by the ADMs.
Groups that remain inactive for 3 months will be deactivated or removed by the administration.
The use of META AI in community groups is strictly prohibited.
Article 10 - Creation of New Groups
A member may propose the creation of a new group by initiating a poll or requesting reactions to a message within an existing group. If 10% or more of the group members support the creation, the proposal will be reviewed by the ADMs.
An external group may also be annexed to the community if:
The external group has at least 10% of the number of members in the community.
The ADMs of Privateers are added as administrators of the external group.
Chapter III - Administration and Moderation
Article 11 - Role of Administrators (ADMs)
ADMs are responsible for:
Enforcing the rules.
Resolving conflicts between members.
Imposing sanctions when necessary.
Making official announcements about live events and partner courses.
Determining which mentorship programs may be recommended within the community.
The official ADMs of the community are those listed as administrators in the Announcement Group. Specific groups may have designated ADMs to ensure dynamism and relevance.
All ADM decisions must be respected and adhered to by all members.
Article 12 - Handling Complaints
Any complaint made by one member against another will be reviewed by the administration.
Complaints related to private messages involving sales or inappropriate behavior will also be investigated.
Article 13 - Official Communications
Important updates and announcements will be shared in the Announcement Group.
Members are expected to regularly monitor the Announcement Group to stay informed.
Chapter IV - Sanctions and Penalties
Article 14 - Infractions and Penalties
Infractions will be classified as minor, moderate, or severe:
Minor Infractions:
Posting off-topic messages within a group.
Sharing external groups without prior authorization (if the topic is not covered by the community).
Repetition: Constitutes a moderate infraction.
Moderate Infractions:
Sharing external groups with the same focus as existing community groups.
Sending unauthorized promotional private messages.
Two minor infractions within a 1-year period.
Repetition: Constitutes a severe infraction.
Severe Infractions:
Promoting misleading products, online gambling, pornographic content, or erotic profiles.
Engaging in offensive or discriminatory behavior.
Public disputes or disrespect toward ADMs or invited speakers for live events.
Frequent complaints from other members regarding a participant’s behavior.
Sharing confidential information, such as patient data.
Two moderate infractions within a 2-year period.
Penalty: Immediate and permanent expulsion.
Article 15 - Acknowledgment of Misconduct
If a member publicly acknowledges their misconduct and apologizes within the group, expulsion may be avoided at the discretion of the ADMs.
Article 16 - Penalty Enforcement Process
All complaints will be investigated by the administration.
The accused member will have the opportunity to present their case directly to the ADMs before a final decision is made.
Chapter V - Final Provisions
Article 17 - Amendments to the Rules
These rules may be revised by the administration to meet the needs of the community.
Any changes will be communicated in the Announcement Group.
Article 18 - Implicit Agreement
By participating in the community, members automatically agree to all the rules outlined in this document.
